INTERIOR, ARCHITECTURAL, AND EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN CENTRAL TEXAS

About Jeff Jones

Growing up, attending church was a regular part of my life. As a young boy I remember sitting in the pews, not really listening to what the preacher had to say… but remembering that my attention always went upwards towards the vaulted white oak ceiling and its thick wood beams. I was fascinated by the detail and curious how it was engineered. The morning light would streamed through the stained glass windows, casting beautiful shadows with various colors.  The interplay of light and shadows during the service evoked more worship in me than hymns we sang sometimes. That sanctuary left a lasting impression on me that was spiritual.
Spaces are meant to make people feel something. I remember after graduating high school I began touring college campuses. None of the campuses “felt right”… until I felt what I felt at Baylor University. Being the oldest university in the state of Texas. It has the full gamut of architectural styles.  As you walk down the Promenade of Fountain mall you have Pat Neff Hall with its American Georgian-style on one end and on the other you have Moody library in its brutalist grander. It made me feel something. So much so I think I chose to attend Baylor because of the architecture. We all have our reasons…
I remember when my grandfather passed away in the hospital, where the only division within the space from others in the room was a curtain thin and transparent. Void of all intimacy. Lit with fluorescent lighting. All the surfaces from the floor, to the furniture,  and the walls were finished in non porous materials like metal, tile,  plastic, or polyester. Void of all comfort when you needed it the most.
Spaces make me feel something. I count it a privilege that I'm asked to capture spaces for designers and architects. It’s a service that has its technicalities but should never be void of its vulnerability.
My journey into the world of photography began with a profound love for the arts, which led me to pursue a BFA at Baylor University. After graduation, I had the incredible opportunity to work at Magnolia as their in-house photographer. Where I further honed my skills and gained invaluable experience in the industry. Being part of such a creative and inspiring environment further fueled my passion for interior and architectural photography.

Over the years, my work has been featured in numerous publications, and I'm grateful for the recognition and the chance to share my service with a broader audience. With my technical precision, I take pride in my ability to capture the essence of each environment I photograph. With each project, I aim to tell a compelling visual story, showcasing the interplay of light, form, and design elements that bring spaces to life.

Collaborating with clients is a deeply rewarding experience for me. I thrive on understanding their visions and translating them into captivating images. Seeing my photographs become an integral part of their portfolios is incredibly fulfilling.
